  1. This sensor can also be referred to as the Cylinder Identification (CID) sensor. As the engine rotates the sensor will signal to the Electronic Control Module (ECM) that cylinder number one is approaching Top Dead Center (TDC) and the timing of the injection pulse can be determined.

  2. this is what helps the computer function the ignition system on that vehicle,it helps determine what position the cam is at so it will know when to give it fire and allow it to receive gas,if it fails the vehicle usually wont run good or sometimes not at all,it helps determine the timing of everything, without it the computer wouldn't know when to release the gas or at what point it should fire at,all this works with other sensors on the vehicle to keep the right amount of timing going to the engine and to make it run smooth,if any of the sensors fail they will greatly affect the running of it,by fault it will go back to factory set running mode most of the time, and will perform badly, good luck

  3. It tells the car's computer where the cam's position is for timing purposes. So it compares that with the oxygen sensor to see if it is running too rich or lean. Also one more thing they can charge you to fix.
