  1. If this question us related to coursework or a question you have to answer to someone else, I would suggest you have a look at the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) document at http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/eyfs/

You'll find lots of information here that should be useful to you!

  2. young children crave learning.. this is the time when everything you teach them sinks in. their brain is like a sponge.

but adults brains begin to slow down. its old, which is why they always forget as its hard to keep in information.

so basically the earlier the better!

the framework is designed so that all children have the oppertunity to learn set out standards of work.

so that no one misses out and it would also bypass discrimination from teacher to pupil.

for example, if a teacher was able to teach their pupil anything then how would they know where to begin? how would they know what information a child needs to challeng and provoke their intellence?

this system would also leave way for the teacher to teach one child something vital, while on the other hand if she discrimnatied against one or more children for what ever reason (age, race, religion, or general dislike) then s/he has the power to make them fail everytime.

  3. Young children learn best through play and the purpose of the curriculum is to give childcare practitioners a guide to what they are supposed to be doing with the children. There can be birth to three years matters which involves playing with the children and then starting to crawl. Then there is the foundation stage which is 3-5 years which involves writing and communicating affectively. You then go into the key stages in schools.

  4. young children learn through play. Different activities and toys help them in all areas of the curriculum. This curriculum helps nurseries etc provide the best experience possible to alllow every child to learn a broad spectrum of knowledge which is the foundation of all future learning.

The curriculum is age related and appropriate to children s capabilities. Also all areas are interrelated.

  5. -To give structure to children's school experience.

-To ensure children learn the skills needed for adult life.

-To provide the government with a measureable outcome for the purpose and efficiency of education.

  6. In September a new framework named Early Years Foundation Stage is introduced to be used in all settings working with children from birth to five. It has been put together by using what is known about how young children develop and learn and how to provide a range of varied learning experiences to help promote all children's devleopment within different areas. The framework is based on the principles that every child is unique and therefore it is used to guide practitioners in personalising learning for the individual children they care for. SO, in answer to your question there is a framework to be used to support each child, it is NOT a curriculum. Hope this helps. PS, i am an Early Years Professional employed to support practitioners working with the under fives.
