  1. Still photos taken with a camcorder generally suck. The short movies I take with my digital camera are a lot better than the stills I take with my camcorder.


  2. Because photos taken by a camcorder are not of the same quality as those taken by the dedicated photographic digital camera. It's not just the megapixel count that matters. Chip technology, software and, optics are rather different.

    It's exactly why some cameras make rather good video, but they are no match for dedicated camcorders - it's just a seccondary feature, only sligtly more useful than a camera on a mobile phone:-) OK, that's minor exaggeration, but you get the idea.:-)

  3. a camera is specifically designed to take pics at different settings like aperature, sutter speeds, and lighting conditions where a camcorder might allow you to take the pics onto a memory chip but will lack most of these features
