What is the purpose of college? How long are we suppose the remember the things we've learned here?

College educated people are exposed to a lot of different ideas and ways of seeing the world. A college education expands your understanding of the world you live in.  You don't have to remember everything, just learn how to reach conclusions after considering all the different alternatives.

The object is to learn, how to learn how to do things. Obviously,  you can't recall each and every lesson, they teach you.

Just as when you learned to read and write, they were tools, that allowed you to learn more and more complicated lessons.

What college will give you, besides many different insights of live and learning, is the tools to go even further.

It may not seem like it, when you are studying, History, Mathematics, Science etc, that you will ever use them in your work or business.

You may or may not, but that background, will allow you to think outside the box. And if a problem arises, give you ways to think and study, to over come it.

Plus,. with all those new and different people you meet, your whole life experience will be wider.
