I am doing research for Earth Day and was wondering if anyone knew what the reason is for flowers to exist in nature besides beautifying the Earth. Thanks for any info.

  1. 1) To help pollination in plants (We'll die without plants, I'm telling you!)

    2) To make a place more beautiful

    3) Smells good (Helps relieve stress)

    4) Develops into yummy fruit we all love to eat! LOL.

  2. All angiosperms have flowers which contain reproductive organs that after pollination and fertilization produce seeds.  The colorful showy flowers that some plants  have are products of co-evolution with insects and other organisms that disperse the pollen making reproduction more easily accomplished.

  3. Flowers are there to attract insects to pollinate the plants and help them reproduce.
