What is the purpose, and history behind haveing hours of operation for any buisness? What are the pros and cons of having hours of operation?

You can have any hours of operation some places are open 24 hours, however I believe and individual is not allowed to work more than so many hours a day otherwise the job may be analogous to "slave:" labor!  And it helps keep accidents down.

From the viewpoint of a prospective customer of your business:

I want to know when you are open for business so that I won't waste my time and gas driving to your place of business only to find out you aren't open.

I expect the people I do business with to have web sites (or at least be listed either on the internet or in the yellow pages) with their telephone number and hours of operation.
