Question:

What is the purpose of having to renew car registration?????

Even the DMV employee couldn't answer this sincere question. Does anybody know? I understand doing it once by why every two years for $60 or so a pop????

  1. The registration is actually better called your vehicle license.   In essence it is just like a ticket to a movie theater which gives you the right to watch the movie.

    Your vehicle license gives you the right to use your vehicle on public roads.  The monies collected go, in part towards the maintenance of those roads and also the DMV system that regulates the autos and licenses.  Thus the process is paid for by the people that use it.

    Thus, you have purchased a two year license to use the roads.

  3. the major purpose might be to know whether the car is in use or not . this is for security and other purposes.
