What is the purpose of indoor tanning lotion?

I understand they're for tanning beds...I get that I just wonder what they do. Do they make you tan darker? Or do they just provide moisture for your skin? What exactly is their purpose?

it is mostly used for tanning beds. outdoor lotions are usually oily and too harsh for sun beds. indoor tanning lotion is made specifically for indoor use, most likely in a tanning bed. they work very well too, you will notice colour the first time you tan with it.

they make you tan darker as they dont need certian things that real suncreen needs as ur not in the sun but its far more damaging for your skin there are extracts inside that pigment your pores as well
