If you create standards, then tell people that deviation is bad, undesirable, and attach a stigma to it, people will want to follow the norm-----" peer pressure." Then, all you have to do is to convince people that you must set the standard, which they will naturally obey, and you have control over the masses. The best examples are in  Fashion, Beauty and Cosmetics. Of course, these standards of acceptable behavior differ by country, location, or political climate.

    Another good but unfortunate example was Hitler's n**i regime.
