  1. The purpose of the porpoise is to be a porpoise on purpose.

Actually, porpoises are an entire family (Phocoenidae) in the order Cetacea, along with whales and dolphins.  There are six species in the family, including beautiful black and white Dall's porpoises (Phocoenoides Dalli) and the harbor porpoise (Phocoena phocoena), found in harbors and marine parks throughout the world.

Their teeth are spade-like and very different from the cone-shaped teeth of dolphins (think killer whale), and the skull bones of porpoises are symmetrical, whereas the skull bones of dolphins are very asymmetrical.  There are other differences as well, and while porpoises and dolphins can look similar, like harbor porpoises and Pacific white-sided dolphins (Lagonorhynchus obliquidens), they are not closely related.

  2. the same purpose of any other animal

  3. if you are asking about the act of porpoising it is to reduce the amount of energy required to surface and breath for a marine mammal.  It requires less energy to break the surface of the water completely than it does to swim along the surface

  4. Porpoises' only purpose in life is to breed and ensure that the species don't go extinct.

  5. You should add details.

    But...

    1. balance out the food chain

    2. live

    3. mate

If you mean purpose of porpoises and not dolphins

porpoises have flattened, spade-shaped teeth distinct from the conical teeth of dolphins, and their shorter beaks.
