What is the quickest way to get a new passport after it was stolen?

My car was broken into and they stole my passport.. and I am now stranded... Whats the fastest way to get a new passport? I live in Auckland new Zealand and there is no South African embassy here for me to just go visit.

contact the local police for a report to start. you may have to get somebody in SA make another one and mail to you.
