What is the quickest way to invest $1000 dollars?

i just won $1000 dollars, and i want to get it invested immediately, so i can maybe double or triple that amount if it is even possible, in the shortest amount of time...what do you suggest i can do if that is even possible...thanks!!!

Whether you can double it in a short time or not...opening an account for investing at E*trade or Scottrade is a very good idea. Just a better place to put your money than any bank..( which is only slightly better than " throwing it away" )

Fill out an application on-line and send a deposit...you'll have an account on line in a couple of days...make your first buy small...make it as cautious or reckless as you want...depending on how much you are willing to " risk" at that attempt to " double" it quickly. You will find that even the most reckless of us get a little more cautious when REAL money is on the line !!

Right now, I would suggest some kind of small investment in companies associated with natural gas... it's fairly plentiful ( compared to oil) and a cheaper alternative for the big energy " users"  ( utility companies, manufacturers, etc.) Those people have seen their costs go from $80. a barrel to $130. in just a year...they are going to be buying in the nat gas area just to " survive"...

Look at things like CHK, HK, UNG, EP, SD

It really depends on how quick you want it doubled.. some investments can go bad, some people lose everything in investing.  In fact, investing's just like gambling.

Go to Vegas.  Quickly double your money, or lose everything.
