  1. I agree with the answer right before this one.  Learn the bass clef as something new and different.  You'll catch on eventually and it will become easy.

  2. Just think everything is one whole line down from treble cleff, so E becomes G and so forth

    Treble                             Bass

    ---------------- F                ---------------- A

    ---------------- D                ---------------- F

    ---------------- B               ---------------- D

    ---------------- G                ---------------- B

    ---------------- E                ---------------- G

  3. Conversion from another clef will slow you down.  Learn the bass clef as a separate entity - like you know different rules when playing basketball and football.  Go to www.practicespot.com and print off - or do online - a bunch of worksheets - yeah, sounds like homework from school.  But you are motivated, and this will not take long.

Good luck with your tryout. I am a NYSSMA judge - NY - and we hear about 300,000 kids a year!  Not me - I am good for maybe 60 a weekend.
