Of course they're nocturnal, but his cage is in my room and his wheel is so loud that I have to take it off of his cage to be able sleep. :( Suggestions?

  1. my hamster doesn't even use his wheel, he just sits in and washes himself lool.

  2. put him some where else at night. i don't do that though. because i can sleep in loud noises. but my friend use to do that.

  3. The quiet wheel is called a "Wodent Wheel", they are also the safe ones.  Here is a place you can buy one:  http://www.petdiscounters.com/Safety-Wod...

Good luck. :~)  <~ that is a smiley face.

Also Tient71700:  If she put wd40 on it it would kill her hamster.

  4. Go to Petco or Petsmart and ask for "silent spinners". They will know what you are talking about. You can't hear those at all.

  5. dab a bit of vegetable oil where the wheel turns. it quieted the squeakiest wheel i had.

  6. kk this is the quietest fastest wheel ever  http://www.4furryfeet.com/xcart/images/P...  it comes in all sorts of colors and sizes and it will be perfecct for ur hamster and it should be at ur local pet store

  7. Try putting some vegetable oil on the joint where the wheel connects to the bracket. They're all noisy, but that helped a lot with ours.

  8. i would say buy him a new wheel or put him in an exercise ball for like half an hour before u go to bed so he's tired. i know it seems unlikely, but just try it!!!!!!

....or u could put him in a different room when u need to sleep.....

  9. Get the living world wheel, you know the one with sidebars? You can place it right in the middle of the cage because it stands up by itself. Cover the outside with cardboard and laminate it with tape, so he doesn't miss his footning on the rungs. Here's the link.

  10. I don't think it's specifically the wheel. Try checking the bit that holds it on, whether onto the wire cage or on a platform, to check that thats not too tight. Try some WD40 on it (but not too much) or just a bit of vaseline to get it to run more smoothly. This should stop it squeaking.

If the worst comes to the worst, you'll just have to take it off at night. They'll have enough to survive with

  11. try putting some WD40 on it so it'll run smoother, and hopefully, more quiet.

  12. get a heavy duty plastic wheel they will stand up just fine and it doesn't squeak
