  1. By now you know its called Guaro.  Cacique is the best tasting and most popular brand.  It is made of cane and is as clear as water.  To order one at the bar simply say, "regalame un trago de guaro (cacique) porfa".  Give me a shot of guaro please.  Guaro is very popular as a shot or mixed with juice and is often the zarpe (last one for the night) of choice.  The little plastic bottles of guaro are known as missles.  Pura Vida.

  2. It is called Guaro (it is a clear alchohol, like vodka) I think it is made of cane, if I am not mistaking.

  3. And here is another drink that is 100% Costa Rican and is way better than Guaro, its called Ron Centenario. Its Costa Rican Rum, way better than bacardi you gotta try Centenario with coca cola and a little lemon in any bar in CR. Just ask for it in spanish, por favor deme un Centenario con coca. Its really good, Guaro is what all the grandpas drink. Also try cafe rica, if you go to a bar you can say in spanish, deme un russo blanco. cafe rica is the costa rican liquor made with costa rican coffee, its really good.

  4. That would be Cacique Guaro.  It is made from sugar cane, and has a light flavor that mixes well similar to a vodka.

  5. Guaro, it is made of sugar cane.  It can be quite strong.  There is one that is illegal called 'contrabando"... you can find it sometimes in a small town.. it is like white lightning...tastes like battery acid and will make you crazy.
