  1. I think you're referring the inner dimension of the grip. The standard is .580 and a .600/.610 is available. If you need the grip built up more than normal because of a personal preference, an extra wrap of tape can be added the shaft prior to installing the grip.

To which diameter are you referring? The internal dimension or the external dimension?

  2. The correct answer for standard size grips is .950 inches in diameter when measured one inch below the endcap of the grip. You can use a cheap set of calipers found at a hardware store like lowes, hime depot etc to check this measurement.

Do you need oversized grips. Check this be placing your left hand on the club in the address position, then raise the club in front of you and check the fingers of that hand. If they are digging into your palm you need to increase the size of your grip. If there is a space between your palm and fingers, your grips are too large.

When adjusting grip sizes you must know the diameter of the shaft butt and the inside diameter of the grip. If these two measurements are equal then one layer of masking tape under the grip increases the size by 1/64 inch or .015 inches. It also adds .05 ounces to overall club weight and reduces swingweight by 1/3 of a point for each layer.

    I hope this helps.

  3. I'm pretty sure Ping's is 1 1/16".
