  1. Because you used the word "the" in front of the term "Iron Triangle," it makes me think you might be thinking of another term such as the iron curtain.

    There is more than one iron triangle. It is a term political scientists use to describe a collusion or "partnership" formed between lawmakers, businesses and lobby groups. In our public administration classes the classic example of this is the dairy industry. Dairy is subsidized by the federal government. If you were to pay full price for milk, it would be way more expensive than 2-3 dollars a gallon. That's because the price is partly paid for by the government through their support of dairy farmers. This is due in part because of the very strong bond between these three groups, forming a triangle if you look at it that way.
