  1. It means £35,000.00

    Because 1K is 1,000.

For example bread 1kg means 1000g.

    easy peesy

  2. The 'K' stands for 1,000.

  3. three zeros, means money, if it aint got a k, dont bother with it- unless its saying per hour rate.

    £35K means £35000

it comes from the term kilo which refers to a thousand, a kilo in weight is 1000 grams.

  4. thousand

  5. Thousand pounds.

  6. It means thousand! £35 000! Omg you really are stupid

  7. I used to wonder what this meant, then my son enlightened me.  'It means thousands' he told me.  So £35k means £35,000. (Lucky if you get that money per annum!)

  8. It came into use Originaly with the IT industry and was a rollover from kilobyte (1028 bytes) so technically it is wrong to designate 1000 by a k but everybody does!

  9. I can confirm that it means thousand. An abbreviation of kilo, from the Greek χίλιοι meaning thousand.

The ancient Greeks had a flourishing IT industry and they knew a thing or 10 about binary. However, they knew very little about kilobytes which is why the first CDs were used as objects to be thrown around and formed the basis of the Olympic games.
