What is the "science of experience" as taught by Roger Bacon?

I'm trying to write an essay on Roger Bacon, but can't find a definition anywhere! Help?

I found many links to Roger Bacon and they do talk about Science of Experience, but I didn't see a specific "definition" for the term.  You can surmise what your take on it is, however.  It seems that without experience, one can not truly know anything, but perhaps make a hypothesis.
