  1. The closest stations to you are LA and Sacramento - both too far away. I'm sure you know you can listen on your computer (streaming) and certain cell phones will allow streaming (I use the "Opera" browser for this).

Sorry, you might want to write the manager of the smaller AM stations in Bakersfield, but the problem is ad sales. Very few advertisers want to spend money on advertising to under 12-year olds (which is most of RD's audience). Consequently, the owners only agree to syndicate RD when there's nothign else left in the area to program. But KERN at 1410 might be a candidate because they have a very low grade signal and don't do well in the ratings.

If you can afford $60, you can purchase a Select-a-Tenna. I bought one years ago that really boosts the antenna power of your AM radio. It's a big, round plastic device. You put it next to your radio and - wow! What a difference. You might be able to pull in the LA station AM-1110. You can reach them at www.selectatenna.com

For the price of a receiver and $13/mo (which will go down soon), XM & Sirius both carry Radio Disney.
