  1. Pelosi and Reid with the "other supporting Democrat socialists" are TRYING TO SHUT DOWN CONSERVATIVE TALK RADIO through this NON FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.  Like the Liberals have no input with all the major networks as it it!!!!  DO NOT LET THEM PUSH THIS THROUGH, as it WILL limit free speech, free thought, and THE TRUTH!!!!!!

  2. the liberals are hissing and pissing and hyperventilating again, because they don't have a monopoly on the media.

They forget that ABC, NBC, CBS, and most of the cable shows are communist, just like NPR and PBS is.

And what's a true outrage is that NPR and PBS is paid for by taxpayer money.

At least conservative TV and radio is 100% private sector , with no public funds.

If anything, the fairness doctrine needs to shut down NPR and  PBS , and should have decades ago.

  3. It applies to radio, the rationale being, that the free market no longer operates, liberals will have effective control of the media in all its forms.

  4. The "Fairness Doctrine" is an attempt to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced and fair.

Currently, however, there is no required balance of controversial issues as mandated by the fairness doctrine. The public relies instead on the judgment of broadcast journalists and its own reasoning ability to sort out one-sided or distorted coverage of an issue.

Broadcasters can  provide substantial coverage of controversial issues of public importance in their communities, including contrasting viewpoints, through news, public affairs, public service based upon their perceptions of those issues.

In short, it's our own personal responsibility to sort through what we read, hear and watch and decide for ourselves what is fact and what is a biased distortion.

  5. For every talk radio or television program that expresses a political opinion there has to be an opposing view program as well in equal numbers.
