I would say appropriate age  for reading would be 6-9th grade, however, the Accelerated Reading level is 4.1.  Hope that helps!

I think it is an S or R.  I could not really find a definite Fountas and Pinnell level but I found the website listed below that provides an approximate correlation. : )

I'm leaning more toward High School (9-12). Don't think it would pass muster in a junior high. I don't think they are really equipped to read it.

It's a high interest, low reading level book, so good for young adults who don't read well.

Recommended for reading level of ages 9 to 12 (grade 4.1), but frequently used in high school because of the discussion material.
