What is the real cost of the war against terrorism?

Did George Bush think it really was as simple as cutting off the heads of a few snakes?

Do you think he ever actually intended to carry out his "war against terror" to the end?

  1. The war against terrorism began before Bush, and will continue as long as there are extremists in this world.  Some have the courage to address the problem, some choose to ignore it.

  2. I don't think Bush ever intended to have a war on terror. After claiming he would get bin Laden dead or alive he committed few resources to that task and took a detour to a country which had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush was controlled by PNAC( Project For A New American Century.) They have taken their website down. You can still find the archives showing they stated that a castastrophe on the order of Pearl Harbor was required for them to implement their plan. You can read Richard Perle's book which names every country in the Middle East, except Israel, as a future target. Had we not failed in Iraq we would have attacked other countries. Count your blessings.

And read all you can about neo-cons and PNAC. IF you do that you will understand where we were heading.

Bush appointed a former Marine who had commanded CentCom (the area including Iraq) as his Special Envoy to the Middle East. He was also the Commandant of the Marine Corps. He was a Vietnam veteran with two tours. He served as an advisor and a commander in Vietnam. His son served in Iraq. His name was Anthony Zinni. He told Bush he shouldn't invade and has spoken out against the war. He was fired because he didn't agree with the neo-con plan.

No, Bush never had any intentions of fighting a war on terror.

  3. $19.99

  4. perpetual persecution of dissenters and anyone not in agreement. Stifling of opposition parties, free speach, peace, never ending war and turmoil. Obviously you are never going to stamp out unhappiness, or criminal behaviour. Society once had limits to how far it will go to get the baddies. these limits erode now through time to the point where we torture our own people and commit other acts that would have been considered barbaric in the previous century. Degredation of our culture and division of society.

  5. I'm not sure if they thought it through, taking all the relevant factors into account. Hehehe...understatement is my friend.

I don't know how you declare war on abstractions with any surety of success. Afghanistan was worth striking for the sake of bringing those zealots to justice and also getting rid of the nutbag Taliban, but all was ruined by Iraq.

The real cost is an erosion of support and kinship among friends due to the abuse of power.

  6. Yes! Also have we been attacked again since 911? NO! So just thank him  and stop being a fear monger!

  7. He knew he could not carry it out to the end, because it will take many, many, many more years than he'd be in office. This is a War WE CAN NOT GIVE UP ON OR LET COME TO AN END BEFORE THE WORLD IS FREE OF THE THREAT OF TERRORISM.

  8. I doubt we will ever really know the real cost. How can one accurately put a value on a soldier's life, or his care, or his sanity. How much money is being diverted from the war to make corrupt rich men more wealthy.

No one will ever convince me that Bush ever intended the war against terror to be ended. In fact, I think he may have thought that he could extend his term beyond 2008 by interrupting elections this fall. Most wars against something specific are never that successful. How long has the War Against Drugs been going on, and we now live in a time where Drug use and abuse are at all time highs. The war against terror is no different. Terrorism is not a person it is a process to usurp power from the masses. Fear is a very effective tool, when a few seek to terrorize citizens, and keep them in line.

Bush had no agenda for his time in office, so one had to be invented, to keep him busy. He wanted to look important, and leave a lasting legacy. Too bad it backfired on him. He became bitter after his utter failings in Texas both as a private business man, and as governor. He used every dirty trick out there to get himself elected both times, just so he could get his revenge, and make all of us pay for it. I think his retirement check ought to be revoked.
