  1. 1. the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors.

    2. the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.

    3. a successful performance or achievement:

    4. a person or thing that is successful

  2. i suppose this is one of those questions that can be debated to no end...and i'm wondering if that is the reasoning behind your question.  anyway, here are a few thoughts.

success is relative to only two parties:  you and everyone else.  if you're working toward changing something about your current lifestyle in anyway...and your desired outcome is met...by God, you're successful!  you met your goal!  however, to other people...they may see no visible evidence of this "success".

take for instance a person that owns real estate with at least $400,000 in separate bank accounts and does not have to work for someone else...but hasn't purchased any luxury cars or expensive home.  if that person chooses to shop at a discount mart...people perceive her/him as unsuccessful...or not AS successful as others

So, success is perceived differently by other people (which can be misleading)…but, true success is only known by the person on the journey!

    take care!

  3. According to Merriam-Webster:

favorable or desired outcome; also : the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence

Success is not always paired with happiness or contentment.  I believe personal goals and state of mind contribute to that.

ex "The assassin had great success in making his marks, but he felt paranoid and lonely, and feared that his right to heaven when his time comes is thwarted."

  4. of course it depends.  Whatever makes you happy, which will probably include money, but not be exclusively the only thing that defines success.  tba

  5. A satisfactory outcome

  6. Success is when your accomplishments match your aspirations.

In other words if you get what you set out to get, you're successful.

  7. Inner happiness

Success is different for all people, but if you are truly content...you have success
