What is the real meaning of freakout?

i am confused

can any one please tell me the actual meaning of FreakOut

(i am from China and i am a beginner in English, my friend's told me different meaning and now i am confused)

to overreact about something.

ex) if your friend borrows $1, and doesn't pay you back, then you yell at them for an hour. that would be a freak out
