What is the real name of a tree commonly called a graveyard tree?

I'm attempting to find the name of a tree that grows up like normal but some branches grow back into the ground and sprouts new trees. My grandmother calls them graveyard trees and has some in her yard but I can't find the real name so I can buy some for my house. Please help me find the name.
