I'm buying this tv next week but i'm concerned about the response time of this product. It says on the philippine samsung website that it has 8ms response time. On the singapore samsung website it says 6ms response time. Same model same product code. In fact only in the philippines (i think) it says 8ms. In other countries where its called LN32A450 its 6ms.

I'm from the philippines that's why it concerns me.

And also, i'd like to know if 8ms response time is fast enough to prevent motion blur/ghosting?

Please help guys!!! Thanks in advance!

  1. Motion blur is NOT a result of LCD response time. LCD motion blur is a result of the way an LCD TV works.

LCD TVs utilize a technique called: "Sample & Hold". They are the only TVs to use this technique and, therefore, are the only TVs with motion blur. Sample & hold works as follows: a frame is sampled and displayed on the LCD screen. This image is held in place for the next 16.67 ms until the next frame is sampled and displayed. Your eyes and mind see that objects are moving from frame-to-frame, but your mind is confused by the fact that these images remain in static positions for 16.67 ms between frames. It is this hold time that tricks our brains into seeing motion blur. If you are concern about reducing motion blur then focus on a 120 Hz TV. 120 Hz operation can reduce motion blur, not eliminate it because that is the best you can do with the current state of LCD TV technology. The A450 does not have 120 Hz refresh operation; 6ms or 8ms LCD response times will do nothing to control motion blur.
