What is the real value of Litres to UK Gallon? Some web sites give 4.5460900 also 4.54609188?

The answer I found here was different so am totally confused.

  1. The first number is just a rounded version of the second. It has fewer significant figures. You probably don't need nearly that many for whatever calculation you're doing, so I wouldn't worry about it.

  3. Seeing as the difference between the two answers you have given is 0.0000188cc, or approximately one speck of dust, does it really matter?

    If you were buying 100,000,000 gallons of something, the difference would be about a thimble full.

  5. Surely, you cannot need a more exact conversion figure. After 5 decimal places, the gravity of the moon will start to effect the accuracy of your measurements, anyway.
