He throws it like 55 MPH. I saw about 4 of them yesterday on the Rangers - Twins game. He like lobbed it in. Was it a knuckleball? or what?

  1. probably eephus as other people say. 4 of them in a game is not that good!batters will cream them!

  2. It as probably and Ephus pitch. This is a pitch that is basically lobbed over the plate but is effective because, unless thrown a lot by a pitcher, it will totally fool the hitter and throw off his timing. This pitch has been rarely thrown in games and should only be thrown about 1-2 times a game if the pitcher has mastered the pitch and knows when to throw it. Hope this is what you were looking for.

  3. probably a changeup

  4. reaaally good changeup

  5. A slow pitch

  6. I think Padilla throws a circle change.  That's when you hold the ball like you were making the "A-OK" sign.  When you throw it, it rolls out of the back of your hand.  So your arm motion is the same as when it's a 93 mph fastball, but instead, this looping little 55 mph change comes floating to the plate.  Batters are fooled because they trigger the beginning of their swing off of the arm motion and end up way out in front.

  7. Eephus pitch it can get as low as 50 mph and can really fool the hitter. Casey Fossum from the Rays has that pitch too but he doesnt throw it as much and Orlando Hernandez from the Mets has that pitch also just a little faster at about 65 mph and throws it more often.

  8. He throws a change up that he turns his hand over and makes the ball work like a s***w ball.

    *Edit

Padilla does not throw an eephus pitch.  Most kids on here will call it an eephus but in fact they have only read about the eephus never seen an eephus pitch before.  Pitchers who throw the eephus don't throw it more that few times a season.  A slow curve is a slow curve, a change up is a change up, eephus pitches are very rare and Padilla does not throw one on purpose.
