Hello,

When i turn on the air conditioner of the car, it did give me the cold air, but it took long time to make it cool. Does that mean I have to fill some Freon in the car? Is that expensive?

What else the reasion would be?

Thank you!

  1. probally low on freon you can get you ac charged at any local autoshop

  2. There is no normal loss of refrigerant. if you are running low there is a leak somewhere. refrigerant does not disappear.  be that as it may if it is a small leak get an evacuate and recharge service.. most cost around a hundred dollars.  your low on refrigerant and it takes a while for the proper pressure to build up to promote efficient cooling.

  3. yea probably need freon can get at walmart cheap.or any auto shop.

sometimes the car may be old and there is not mch to do. unless you but a whole intire AC vent. that can be expencive.good luck.

  4. Sounds like your refrigerant is running low. This can be a normal loss if the vehicle is older, or it can be a faulty part causing it to leak out. A good shop can check it out, look for an AC special and take it then. We used to charge 79.95 for that. If there is a problem expect to pay more.
