  1. no-one takes that rule seriously. Yeah i think it is to get their attention

  2. Horn in an automobile is very important, you need it for establishing contact with other motorists on the road, and when you are driving on small roads and streets, this plays a vital role in safety and gives you confidence to drive better. It may sound unethical tapping horn very frequently, but at the same time refraining from using horn at a time when it is required, may lead you to a fatal accident. Motorist in Europe and US, when they have to drive in other parts of the world, are embarrassed mostly when they note honking horns frequently, but I know that driving in these areas is never safe without honking horns..........

  3. The sole purpose of a car horn is to make a noise in order to alert other road users to your presence or approach.

Inappropriate or illegal use is determined in individual cases >if< prosecuted, which I think is highly unlikely.

  4. The horn is used to make music when you are bored in a traffic jam.

    Their. I said it!

Some people think like Al Gore, and say the Stupidest, most retarded things.

Saying that it is Illegal to use your Car Horn is like Against Human Rights, and Free Speech. The Horn is simply a Communication Device, to let Other Drivers know of something.

Sometimes it's an Emergency, other times it's just a Friendly 'Beep-Beep'.

If we Couln't use our Horn, we would live in a Socialist Society full of Socialist Pigs.

  6. OK, you are driving and the other driver does not see you.  You honk.  You AVOID an accident.   GOOD USE.

You are driving, and the other car is moving really slow, you honk to make him get out of your way (no accident was imminent).  BAD USE.

You are waiting at the light.  The light turns green.  The car in front does not move, you honk.  BAD USE.

    Good luck...

  7. no its not. That is why it is there, if someone is reversing into you for example are you just going to sit there and watch? ah, no, you honk, they realise what they are doing and you AVOID an accident. If there is a law against that then why would cars have them in the first place?

  8. It have a different meaning in different country and different situation. I won't list down the country, just the reason:

~ To notify someone on road on something important (to reduce accident)

~ To yell at other road users (because they drive un-accordingly)

    ~ To notify pedestrian

    ~ To say thanks

~ To asked other road users to move faster

    ~ To relieved stress

~ To called for other road user (notify them so that they notice you and chat with you ON THE ROAD)

~ To say 'stop' when other road user cannot measure their distance (while parking, in or out)

~ To asked other road users NOT to move to your lane

~ To notify other road users that they almost hit / crash onto you.
