What is the reason for a quesition on Y!Answers?

I have been looking lately and I see really weird questions. Does it earn you points if you were ask question on here or does it not. Help me out here. I know that the reason for questions os to get an answer. Does it help you to ask question by points anyway?

Actually, when  asked a question, it's - 5 points but when you pick best answer, you get 3 points back.

people just like asking weird questions... just curiosity. no extra points for asking odd questions or anything lol, you lose some points by asking, not gain
