What is the reason for so many avatars being changed in CE-sorry but I don't know who?

Of course there's no law against it-did not mean that but there have been an awful lot of changes-maybe a little clue with the changes as to who is who?

For obvious reasons I`d like to change mine. In fact I was fiddling with it just yesterday. I have to admit it got the better of me & stayed the same.

If anyone can try to explain how to do it
