  1. are you a doc? do you wanna be a doc? do want to get into any field that deals with medicine? if you answered no to all these questions...then please, do NOT study anatomy...

    but if you want to, read 'Gray's Anatomy' by 'Henry Gray' it'll be a nice bit of "light" reading for you

Exactly as Scottsdale put it, we have a medical lexicon to avoid ambiguity.  The need for precision when we communicate amongst our colleagues is critical to the well-being of our patients.  Precision in communicating is essential to the timely and high-quality care of the ill or injured patient.

  4. The reason is very simple:  anatomy is complicated, and if you want to work in a field where knowledge of anatomy is needed, you must learn the terminology.

    You would not want a surgeon working on you who did not know the difference between the tibia and the femur.
