What is the reason why someone would continue to watch a Black & White TV show from the 60's, every day?

This guy is 44 years old, and still watches the Andy Griffith show with an intensity reserved for brand new programs by average people. Seems like he is stuck in a (mental or emotional) time warp. I am only looking to understand why or how this might be happening.

I watch that show whenever it is on too.  Rumor has it that there is an episode where you can see a little nip from Aunt Bea.

The Andy Griffith show is awesome and that is why they still show it on TV everyday. You don't have to be in a time warp to know that dancing with the stars and big brother are mind-numbing idiotic nonsense.

Are you talking about your "friend".  I am not sure why your "friend" would do this.  Is he also fascinated with squirrels?
