Question:

What is the recipe for potato salad?

I already boiled the 2 large potatoes, 2 eggs, and I chopped up the red bell pepper, onions, and celery. That's pretty much all I have. Do I need to cook the peppers, or onions?

And how do I make the sauce? I have mayonnaise, mustard and probably some other stuff.

I don't have any type of seeds, or parsley.

  1. Just mix the mayo into it and you're all set.  Sprinkle with paprika for colour.


  2. Potato salad consists of- potato, mayonnaise, onion, mustard, seasoning.

    You are dressing the cooked potato, I prefer it while still warm, with mayonnaise and whatever else you fancy.

    This is great served with mackeral.

  3. to what you have use 1 egg not 2, add about 3 Tbs. mayo. 1 tsp. mustard 1 tsp. vinegar salt and pepper to taste and chopped onion. or granulated onion but, not onion salt. you can add a Tbs. of pickle relish if you like also.

  5. I would Peel the potatoes and slice them .

    Add the finely chopped onions (uncooked)

    Splash a bit of olive oil over that

    Pour enough mayo to coat the lot

    Mix everything together

    Slice eggs and arrange on the top

    This is a simple version and you will love it. I wouldn't use the other ingredients but if you want to don't cook the pepper

  6. dont cook the onion or peppers just toss all in with about 1/2 cup mayo and about 2tbsp mustard I like a dash of salt and pepper. skin on for more flavor and fiber and vitamins. also celery seed if youve got if not mince the celery leaves from the top of your stalks instead of tossing them out. sounds great oh almost forgot my husband likes a little sweet pickle relish also. maybe a tbsp

        * 2 pounds red potatoes

        * 1/2 cup mayonnaise

        * 1/2 cup sour cream

        * 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish

        * 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

        * 3/4 teaspoon salt

        * 1/2 teaspoon pepper

        * 3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

        * 4 hard-cooked eggs, chopped

        * 2 green onions, sliced

    DIRECTIONS

       1. Place potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 20 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool. Cut potatoes into cubes.

       2. In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, horseradish, parsley, pepper and remaining salt. Stir in the potatoes, bacon, eggs and onions. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.


  8. Dont cook your onion or bell pepper, onions, or celery.  Potato salad is also good with canned or frozen corn kernals, and red onion, but its optional.  I would make my sauce with mayo, mustard, lemon, and a tad of pepper.
