  1. 1 7/8" ball is fine for a 4 x 6 trailer.

We use 2" and up at work to haul heavier loads of 4-6000 lbs.

  2. 1 7/8 is fine for a class 1, but I always use a 2 inch ball. It will tell you right on the hitch what size ball to use.

  3. 1 7/8" OR 2".  U-Haul trailers are designed to accept either size.  As for which one, It doesn't matter for the trailer.

  4. A 1" & 7/8" ball will work fine.  You MUST match ball size and the trailer.  The size should be stamped on the tounge of the trailer.  Please get and use safety chains!!  A spare tire would also be a good idea.

  5. It is a small trailer but you should use a 2 inch ball for safety.

  6. 1 7/8", I don't know if I'd haul that with a Class i, myself.
