  1. Only your doctor and you can answer this question, since everyone is different.  It depends on both your weight, age, and physical activity you due everyday.  Have you talked to your doctor or nutritionist to help you set up a nice plan?

  2. my endocrinologist and my nutritionist agree that to maintain your current weight 180 carbs is the amount and if you want to lose weigh you lower that number depending on the amount of weight you want to lose

  3. That depends on whether you need to loose weight, if you are insulin, your calorie intake and what your meter says 2 hours after eating.  Some carbs are better for you than others.  There is no set number however I have heard that we need 130 grams of carbs a day in order for our brain to function properly however I know many are eating less than that and are functioning fine.

  4. 50% protien

    40% carbs

    10% fats

  5. There is NO recomended amout of Carbs (starches).

    Starches are bread, grains, cereal, pasta, and starchy vegetables like corn and potatoes. They provide carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Whole grain starches are healthier because they have more vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

    Eat some starches at each meal. Eating starches is healthy for everyone, including people with diabetes.

  6. Without knowing anything about your weight, exercise plans, general health etc. I would agree with the 180 grams of carbohydrates spread out throughout the day.

    I would break them down this way:

    Breakfast = 30 carbs.

    Snack     = 15 carbs

    Lunch     =  45 carbs

    Snack    =  15 carbs

    Dinner    =  60 carbs

    Snack    =  15 carbs.

    This could be adjusted according to your personal needs either up or down but it's a good place to start.
