With all the talk about tire pressure and gas savings, I want to make sure my pressure is right. You'd think I'd know what it should be, but nope...

Can you help?

  1. look at the inside of drivers door it should be a sticker there with tire sizes and pressures and then look on tires side wall for max id run max thats on the tire til the tire wears.... it will be at least 35 if not more for max pressure

  2. The numbers listed on the sidewall of your tires is the maximum pressure for an Escort that is loaded to the maximum weight that the Escort can carry. If you don't have the manual for your Escort, after market tire replacement companies like Big O can tell you what the tire pressures should be under normal load.

  3. for normal use front 2,2bar, rear 2,0 bar for the Ford/Orion 185/60R 14 tires. For maximum use  front 2,4 bar and rear 2,8 bar.

That is what a Dutch site says.

But if you look at the next link

where my article is about recalculating tire-pressure, you can check it yourselves, with help op the exel-forms I made, and recalculate when you have other tires.

Also you can use the help screens to put it over to PSI.
