What is the record for most Wins in a season in the Modern NASCAR Era?

Kyle Busch is tearin' it up! And i was just wondering what the record was.

It depends on what you call modern era...Petty and Dale sr. raced toghther...Petty had 10 in a row with like 34 in one season...Other than that the rainbow warrior.

I agree with the others. Jeff Gordon once won 13 races back in the mid '90s. I remember Richard Petty once winning 27 races way back then. I think the the 1960's or early '70s.

The King and Jeff Gordon each had season highs of 13. Looks like it's in the realm for Kyle Busch as well.

Jeff Gordon with 13 which tied Richard Petty. I believe this was the 1998 season. Honestly I think Kyle Busch has a good shot to break that record of he keeps it up.

Busch is tied for 19th for season wins right now. I highly doubt he will get the record this year because the heat is going to turn up when the chase starts.
