    REASON:

    a reflection about the x axis is a change of sign in y.

    so if you let y=f(x),

    then the reflection is -y=-f(x)

    so the equation of the reflected line (lets call the function g) is:

    g(x)=-f(x)=-(-x+1)=x-1

    or y=x-1
