What is the relation between protein intake and urine output?

i was going through harrison 16th edition where in the section of hyponatremia one of the etiology was protien intake.... so logic behind it???

  1. I hope that you know  the components of proteins and also urea.Breakdown of proteins increases these components in body and when present in large amounts have to be removed from the body and puts a lot of pressure on kidneys when too much of it is consumed.


  2. Protein is formed from small building blocks called amino acid. Amino Acids are not stored in the body instead they are metabolised to form useful compounds for the body that contain nitrogen as catcholamines, histamine, melanine and creatine or waste products . For example, ammonia which is diposed as urea then finally into the urine.

    So that means the more protein you eat more urea will appear in the urine . Also, is cases of muscle wasting there's and increased catabolism of the protein and this also rises the urea level in urine.
