Until 1925- Los Angele had the largest public mass transit system in the world.

Bar none- bigger than the Tube, the Metro and NY's Subway.

In 1949, nine corporations, including General Motors, Standard Oil of California, Firestone Tire and 7 individuals, constituting officers and directors of certain of the corporate defendants, were convicted in a second count of conspiring to monopolize the sale of buses and related products to local transit companies controlled by the defendants.

by 1952 the world's largest light rail system had been ripped up over 1000 miles of track.

In years to follow- LA became US's worst polluter. Many commentators directly blame loss of affordable mobility for the rise in severe crime.

Today millions have been invested to renew light rail, but Metro link is but a mere shadow with 73.2 miles of track compared to Pacific Electrics' Red Car Line.

See how Big Oil treats Americans like what comes out of a dog's bottom?
