What is the relationship between Electrical conductivity and Total Dissolved Solids (T.D.S) of water?

  1. When solid dissolved in water, it produces ions. Electrical conductivity is aided by ions in water. So more dissolved solid means more ions and more ions mean easier for electricity to conduct. I suppose it's explained like that?
