  1. grana consists of lamellae..

  2. The thylakoid membrane is the inner membrane of the double-membrane chloroplast.

Grana lamellae are the folds of the thylakoid that are stacked on top of each other closely. Under microscope viewing these appear like stacks of pancakes. This huge surface area lets the plant pack in plenty of proton-pumping proteins to help generate ATP. Photosystem II is located on the grana lamellae.

Stroma lamella are the folds of the thylakoid that are between the grana - this is where NADPH is generated by photosystem I.

To answer simply, grana are stacks of thylakoids.
