  1. I think is a love hate! I think Americans can't understand why canada's culture is pretty much the same as america and mexico's culture is so different. and they both are just across the border of the united states.

Ilegal immigration is common from mexico in the usa and this is the first generation where immgrants are wanting to keep their homeland customs and language. Americans don't like that so much.

  2. Mexico and the USA have always have a Love/Hate relationship.  Both need each other, but both hate to admit it.  A famous author once said: "Poor Mexico so far from God, so close to the USA."

The USA is the main client for Mexican exports, especially Oil and Gas products.  But Mexico also exports, fruits, vegetables, meat, cars, clothes, electronics, metals, fish, etc.

Mexico main source of revenue is Oil & Gas exports.  The number two main of revenue is Tourism.  A large number of turists visiting Mexico come from the USA.

The USA outsources many of their production to Mexico including, car manufacturers, clothing, etc.  It is cheaper the labor in Mexico and thus it helps to reduce the price of the production.  USA farmers employee tons of temporary Mexican workers.

The USA, Canada and Mexico have a Free Trade agreement for over 10 years and the USA is pushing hard to promote the model in the region.  The agreement (as expected) has worked much better for the USA than for Mexico.

Mexico is probably the closest Political ally that the USA has in Latin America.  But, hacen said that, Mexico oftens opposes many of the political stands of the USA. Case in point the conflict in the Middle East.

  3. It's tense, drifting over political and economic changes wich affect both nations.

Both countries have still very old policies and concepts of law that make more difficult their relationship.
