Ethnics or ethnicity is a shared feeling of peoplehood among a group of individuals. Individuals share similar cultural patterns such as their beliefs values customs and behaviors. Race is grouping people by their distinguishing features. Example, we have Mexicans, Blacks, and Whites. Who is to say that a Mexican doesn't consider theirself as a Buddhist. They look Mexican but they believe in and share the same feelings as a Buddhist. Their race is Mexican but their ethnicity is Buddhism.

Well, race is a bogus concept, but it's roughly continent of origin; ethnicity is more specific.

So, White is race, French is ethnicity; African is race; Massai is ethnicity.
