What is the relevance of ANTHROPOLOGY in the course, BACHELOR of SCIENCE in NURSING?

Anthropology is the study of culture, it is a science and if one will be dealing with people they should have an understanding of all the different cultures they will come in contact with.

Anthropology teaches you that humans vary greatly in their beliefs and world views. What may be a appropriate in one culture may be completely inappropriate in the next. In being a nurse you are likely to come across people of many different cultural backgrounds who need your help. It is an advantage to have an understanding of different cultures. Perhaps a patient will reject a certain medical procedure because their culture is opposed to it? Maybe a person is engaging in an act that is advocated by their culture, but may be hurting their health at the same time? These are the things you need to be prepared to handle with understanding and tolerance.

I think you are asking why, if you are in a program that leads to a B.S. in nursing, would you be required to take a course in anthropology?  As a nurse, you will be treating people from diverse backgrounds.  A good nurse treats all patients with respect and compassion, regardless of their cultural background.  If your nursing program requires a course in anthropology, I assume it is a course in cultural anthropology--designed to give the nurse an understanding (and appreciation) of cultural diversity.  This understanding and appreciation will help you become a better nurse.
