  1. Most cases of tinitus could be cured in homeopathy.  Salicylic Acid or Natrum Salicylicum in 3X potency would cure many of the cases of tinitus upto progressive deafness including Menierer's disease.  The cause mostly for tinitus lies in the presence of salicylicum in the analgesics and NSAIDS.  If it is due to any other reasons, the symptoms emitting could lead to the choice of correct medicine and a visit to a good  homeopath would be rewarding.  with best wishes.

  2. Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, RINGING in the ears, irregular heart beats, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores. Add b12 and folic acid for best results

In our practice 9-10 people that think they have tinitus  are really anemic. Start with the simple stuff instead of going thru all the drs and all the medicine. Its ringing in your ears caused by lack of iron, folic acid and b 12 and probably calcium and other minerals. Take the floradix and a daily mineral and the ringing will be gone in probably 24 hours.

  3. A lot of stuff is out there - I think it is all a bunch of hooie.  From what I have read there is little, to nothing that can be done about this on the "home front".

If it is truly driving you crazy, make an appointment with a board certified ear, nose, throat doctor.  They may have a treatment to suggest, or at least offer some temporary relief.

Your ears are precious treasures, don't trust them to internet husksters.  Seek a real doc!!

  4. There are two major causes of tinnitus. First is taking of drugs that are ototoxic and can cause this problem. If this is the case the cure will be to stop taking these or talk to your doctor. Next is what is caused sensineural damage. This is the true nerve damage to the organ of corti or the organ that we actually hear with, it is located in the inner ear. This nerve damage is most often caused by exposure to loud noises. Noises like, lawn mowers, loud ipods, rock concerts, loud movies, and the list goes on. Over time the hair cells in the organ of corti die off. The end result is a reduction in hearing, esp. high frequencies, and tinnitus. The nerve damage is permanent, the tinnitus is permanent. If noise is the cause, the only thing you can do is to prevent further damage by limiting your noise levels.

  5. Are you eating Aspirin or antibiotics? Forget alternative 'remedies'; truthfully, they don't stop tinnitus long.

A GOOD physician who knows (French) Auriculotherapy (Ear acupuncture) can really be helpful to you. Look up Acupuncture in your yellow pages & ASK QUESTIONS! Don't be sold any 'set' of 10 visits, either...

  6. If it is truly tinnitus, there really is no cure for it. I have constant ringing in my ears all day, every day and I've been to neurologists, regular docs and an ENT (ear, nose, throat). They had no suggestions or remedies. Luckily, mine doesn't bother me too terribly much. I've been seeing an acupuncturist and it seems to be a bit better. You can also increase your intake of bioflavonoids as they increase the circulation to your inner ear. It takes a while, but it can help. They can be purchased over the counter at most drug stores. It is simply a supplement. Don't be closed minded and rule out alternative therapies. Take it from someone who is actually experiencing ringing in the ears. Pharmaceutical drugs don't "cure" anything, they only mask the underlying problem. Good luck!

  7. If your tinitus is brought on by an ear infection or cold try holding your head over a bowl of steamy water and vick's vapour rub regularly,  This can unblock the mucus inside your ears that can cause tinnitus.

    You also may need antibiotics.

  8. Are you taking lots of aspirin for an underlying pain?  too much pain med will cause this.  Other than that..that I'm aware of..there is no real solution.  (I have the problem too) have major headaches all the time, and was overtaking aspirin.  Once I stopped...my ears quit ringing so badly.

  9. Neosporin H Ear drops. 5 drops twice a day for 7 days.

Clean the ears with Johnson buds.

If, no control within a week, go to an ENT specialist.

  10. if you've gone swimming recently try tilting your head side to side to get the water out of your ear.if not try exercising your ear and temple back and forth.
