What is the resort of Tsilivi in Zante like mid May?

I am looking to book an 11 night holiday mid May with around 6 friends. I've read that the resort is 2nd to Laganas for its nightlife and restaurants.

Will this be the case at this time of year? I'm worried it might be dead!

  1. No. The Resort would be pulsating and throbbin'. The 'Local Talent' (male, young, and, full of s***k) would be eager to 'get off the starting blocks.' Take along your 'combination chastity belt', and, have your wits about you, by, being sensible, and, proceed with (not 'reasonable', but) 'borderline-extreme' caution - if you understand what I am trying to tell you.

  2. Hi there,

I've been to Zakynthos a few times and have gone through Tsilivi but not stayed there. I get the feeling its more of a quieter resort with a few places to go at night.

If i were you, i think i might consider kalamaki as its close to Laganas if you wanted to join the young crowd, which is either a long-ish walk short taxi ride away.

Kalamaki is great for more of a relaxed holiday and great beaches and i think its got plenty of options for more of a busy holiday.

Beware of going the first week in the season as you might find that all the restaurants are not all open yet and the weather can be a bit changeable and possibly even a shade chilly in the evenings.

Go for more towards the end of May for better weather.

Kalimaki is really great, you'll love it!

  3. Tsilivi is a pretty lively resort.

Are you looking for somewhere that is typically Greek? The last time I went through Tsilivi it looked very very English. They even have a McDonalds there. If thats the sort of thing you like then thats fine, bit I thought I should warn you. I wouldn't want you going expecting somewhere really Greek, because it isn't.

From what I remember there were a few nice restauraunts though.

  4. go to Laganas :-P

  5. No idea, but Zakynthos is suppose to be beautiful.  I heard that a beach there won best beach in the world by a famous travel magazine in 2006.  Zakynthos might be dead then, but idk.
